Pruning

Jesus said to his disciples, "I am the true Vine and My Father is the Vine Dresser. Every branch in Me that bears no fruit He cuts away, and every branch that does bear fruit He prunes to make it bear even more..."

I have tomato plants and roses; I have to admit I don't do a very good job of pruning them. I hate to see them grow and then cut away what has grown. But I am realizing that they don't produce a lot of roses or tomatoes, because all their energy is being used up to feed the vine.

We are like that if God doesn't prune us and take away unnecessary things in our lives.All our energy is expended in the wrong directions.
