Peter says, "Lord...I will put up three tabernacles..."
Why was that inappropriate?
It is just like Peter to have to make a comment. đ I am afraid I too often want to fill the void with words. Sometimes we need to be still and take the moment in. Christ, Moses, Elijah are not equals. Moses represents the Law, and Elijah the Prophets.. both leading to the fulfillment of Scripture. Which is Christ.
The writer of Hebrews gives us a marvelous picture in chapter 11 of these people of FAITH, "...we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses..." 12:1 We honor and cherish them and grow from their stories but Christ is our Lord and Savior.
What Grace He shows to Peter. God Himself SPEAKS! Clarifying Just Who Christ IS...MY BELOVED SON.
